Description
Because this drug has a high incidence of pseudomembranous colitis, clindamycin is not the first choice.
- Treatment of bacterial infections that are sensitive to Clindamycin such as Bacteroides fragilis and Staphylococcus aureus and especially for patients with allergies to Penicillin.
- Prevent endocarditis or infection due to surgical implants for those who are allergic to Penicillin or those who have been treated for a long time with Penicillin.
- Aspiration pneumonia and pulmonary abscess, severe respiratory infections caused by anaerobic bacteria, Streptococcus, Staphylococcus and Pneumococcus.
- Intra-abdominal infections such as peritonitis and abscesses in the abdomen.
- Festering wound infections (surgery or trauma).
- Blood infection.
- Fever (pelvic inflammatory disease), pelvic and genital tract infections such as: Endometrial inflammation, ovarian abscess not due to gonococcemia, pelvic cellulitis, bacterial vaginosis in the vagina after surgery by anaerobic bacteria.
- Trauma through the eyes.
- Emphysematous phlegmon.
